Mentally challenged man ‘butchers’ 3 at Jamasi

A 28-year-old man believed to be mentally unstable has wounded three people at Jamasi in the Ashanti region.

Two of the victims who are said to be in critical condition were rushed to Techiman Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
The third victim who sustained an injury on the arm has been discharged from the hospital.

Speaking to Joy News, the discharged victim, Sumaila said the suspect slit his arm with the machete after he tried to stop him from killing one of the victims.
Thomas according to eyewitness tried to escape after committing the absurd act but was knocked down by a motorbike.

He was arrested by the police and is currently receiving treatment under police watch.

“We have been playing with him, we do not know what came over him,” an eyewitness said.
Sumaila alleged that the suspect is not mentally unstable as believed but misbehaves whenever he smokes.

According to Sumaila, Thomas buys wee (cannabis) with money he makes from helping some khebab sellers.
He adds that the machete used by Thomas belongs to the khebab seller.
