JB´s 'killer' benefitted from Justice For All programme

Joy News has learnt, a man who has confessed to killing the Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, was a remand prisoner and a beneficiary of the Justice For All Programme.

The 'killer' whose name has been witheld, benefitted from the programme after the state failed to produce evidence to convict him on an alleged criminal case.
The confessed killer is also an ex-convict who had been to jail for petty thievery.

Three mobile phones were retrieved, two of them confirmed to belong to the slain MP. The third phone, the source said, is password protected.
JB Danquah Adu’s confessed ‘killer’ is also an ex-convict who had been to jail for petty thievery.

The young man has said he acted in concert with two others. Police are yet to confirm news reports of the arrest of the two others.

The opposition New Patriotic Party has been profuse with praise, hailing the police following the arrest of the ‘killer of a minority MP JB Danquah.
The NPP had said it suspected foul play in the stabbing and killing of the party's Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North in the Eastern Region.

He said the party wants immediate and credible investigations into the incident by the police to bright closure to the matter.

Commenting on the latest development, the party’s Communications Director Nana Akomea told Joy News Thursday, the police had done an “excellent work”.

The arrest comes less than 70 hours after the Abuakwa North MP was stabbed to death in his home at Shiashie in Accra.

A “gratified” Nana Akomea was elated with what he described as an energetic response from the police since the murder.
