New on Adrien Rabiot!! As Reds make contact over Adrien Rabiot with the mother.
Liverpool have made contact with the mother and agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, sources have told ESPN FC.
The Premier League side are very keen on Rabiot, especially if they can sign him on a free transfer.
Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of Rabiot and tried to sign him when he was Borussia Dortmund coach.
Klopp has followed Rabiot's progress very closely with another source telling ESPN FC the pair have already spoken on the phone to discuss a move.
The 23-year-old is in the final year of his contract in Paris and has, for the moment, rejected all the offers of a new deal from the club who are still hoping to convince Rabiot to pen a new contract.
Rabiot was linked heavily with Barcelona over the summer but PSG refused to sell him. However, from January, he will able to sign on a free for another club for next season and is likely to be in demand.
Liverpool know they will face tough competition, with Barcelona going back for the player too, but Rabiot has never hidden his attraction to Liverpool.
Last October, in an interview with French radio station RMC, Rabiot said that he grew up loving Liverpool.
"I would love to play in the Premier League, not necessarily one club in particular, even though I was very fond of Liverpool when I was young," he said.

Breaking news!!!!! Deputy Chief justice arrested for questioning over bank collapse!
Philomena Mwilu was picked up by law enforcement agents on Tuesday, August 28, at the premises of the Supreme Court in Nairobi around 1:30pm after a mid-morning meeting between the Judicial Service Commission and the Judiciary.
Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigation has reportedly arrested the country’s deputy chief justice and deputy president of the Supreme Court for questioning over her alleged involvement in some corrupt deals.
Tuko.co.ke reported that Philomena Mwilu was picked up by law enforcement agents on Tuesday, August 28, at the premises of the Supreme Court in Nairobi around 1:30pm after a mid-morning meeting between the Judicial Service Commission and the Judiciary.
The said meeting was also attended by the boss of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji.
Tuko.co.ke quoted a source as saying: "Kinoti and Noordin arrived about noon and were moving in and out of Chief Justice David Maraga's office. After Mwilu was led to her car, Kinoti was driven closely behind her. It could not be established if the deputy chief justice had her lawyers or not."
It is reported that the high profile arrest has got to do with some fraudulent deals that led to the collapse of the Imperial Bank in 2015 among others for which the deputy chief justice was being sought after for questioning.
Ghana is currently faced with the challenge of dealing with the collapse of seven local banks which has led to uncertainty in the country’s financial sector.
The government has given a strong indication that all persons whose actions and inactions led to the financial crisis will be prosecuted.
It is not surprising that no less a person than the second in command of the east African country’s judiciary has been arrested, as president Uhuru Kenyatta has waged a serious war against corruption.

Mane: There's more to come from 'unbelievable' Keita
Naby Keita's immediate adaption to the Premier League has been enabled by his 'unbelievable' ability - and Sadio Mane expects Liverpool's new No.8 to get even better.
A summer arrival from RB Leipzig, Keita has started in each of the Reds' three successive wins at the beginning of the Premier League season.
The 23-year-old has been a dynamic presence as part of Jürgen Klopp's midfield three, and took the breath away with an outrageous turn during last Monday's 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
And Mane, scorer of three goals in three appearances this term, believes there is more to come from Keita.
"I think he brings plenty in our team and I think it's also not easy for the new players to come into the Premier League but for him, he's unbelievable," the forward told Premier League Productions.
"He's started great and we are here to help him more to get to his best and I am sure he will do something special here."
